Baking With Chef Adrienne--Class #4!

Today was our bread class! We learned about quick breads and yeast breads. Who knew (besides me) that you could have such a good time playing with dough and talking about natural and chemical leaveners! The girls were great, AND they are remembering the things I tell them, which makes me so proud.

The menu included pumpkin bread with chocolate chips, blueberry muffins with cinnamon strusel topping, whole wheat knot rolls and braids, white clover leaf rolls and butterhorn rolls.

Here are my little goofs...Rachel, Nicolle and Kadie

These are the wheat knot rolls. The girls rolled out a long rope and then tied a knot. We let them rise again, egg washed them and baked them to golden perfection!

Here are the butterhorn rolls right before they went in the oven!

Here's our pumpkin bread batter. Whitney is carefully scooping it into her bread pan and Rachel looks like she's in awe...so funny!

Little pans ready to bake!

Posing for me during a brief period of down time--the bread was rising or something!
Meaghan couldn't wait until she got home to try the pumpkin chocolate chip bread! I asked her if she wanted a fork, but she declined :)

Maren was especially helpful today because she did double duty! Anika had the flu and couldn't make it so Maren helped me make everything twice so she could take it home to her sister. I felt really bad because today is Anika's birthday and she was home in bed!

Here's Nicolle with her finished masterpieces!

Here's the whole class--except for Anika :(

Rachel, Nicolle and Kadie are in the front and then from left to right are Maren, Jessi, Calie, Madelyn, Brandi, Whitney and Meaghan!
