It's on!

Date: Saturday, April 19th 2008

Time: 7:00 am

Allison and I are going to run the Salt Lake City 1/2 Marathon this year! She says I convinced her, but she was a pretty easy sale because she's already in great shape! We have been through a lot together since the 7th grade and this is our next big goal. She and I are training in different states and we're going to meet up in Salt Lake for the big day. I'm nervous, but I know we can do it! If you have some good training tips or just some extra encouragement I'm sure it will come in handy over the next 12 weeks! Also, I'd love to do some more events this year. If anyone wants to join me we can find a fun race to do together!

Just for the record, I started running 2 years ago with my BFF Becca Carver. I never thought I could be a runner but she helped me get to my first 5k in 2006. Then in 2007, Alysia Cook and I ran a 10k! We had such a great experience that we considered running a 1/2 marathon last year but alas, I was far too pregnant. Anyway, I think the reason I try to recruit people to run with me is because I love having the extra motivation of someone who is counting on me to keep training and the company of course! Also, I like the results. If you don't think you can run, I can prove you wrong! There is a great walk/run program to get you started on www.runnersworld.com, here is the link to the article:

So all you lovers and haters of running--
lets run a race and be great in 08'!

Alysia and I blazing to the finish line at the Rexburg Dam marathon (10k) last June--it was awesome!

Colby's First Pinewood Derby!

Here's Colby with his derby car! He and Brett cut it out with a scroll saw, painted it black, and weighted it in the back with melted fishing sinkers! They both had a good time making the car. Colby wanted it to look like a Camaro, and I think they did a great job.

Grandpa Dean was there at the Derby to help weigh in and put graphite on the wheels so it would be super fast!

Here is the line up with just some of the cars, Colby was #2.

There were 17 Wolf scouts at the Derby, and 2 race tracks. Colby thinks the wood one was faster!

After a hard night of racing, we got big chocolate chip cookies and then hamburgers at Arctic Circle. Colby was a really good sport and we had a fun night!

Plus photos de la bebe Jolie!

Here are a couple more of Jolie in her new outfit! I know you love the big bow--right? haha! We just went to lunch with the ladies--it was a fun break and Jolie was a good girl!

This is the happy face she does when she is getting ready to talk!

Little Jumparoo

Here are a few pictures of Jolie at 12 weeks! She has more than doubled in size and is getting really smiley and more talkative. Colby had a lot of fun playing with her in the Johnny Jump up last night. Jolie thought it was pretty fun too. She liked swinging and thought it was pretty neat that she could spin around and bounce--she is so cute.

Our Little Blessing

Today was Jolie's Baby Blessing. It was very special! I felt the spirit so strongly and was reminded how blessed I am to have a family. This was a wonderful weekend and I just want to thank everyone who participated. We love You!

Here is the whole group that came for the weekend. From the left, my sister Stephanie, her husband Dave, and their kids Ali and Zach. Then my sister Andrea her husband Joe, and their kids Jaxsen and Hayley. Then Me, Brett, Jolie and Colby. Brett's parents, Dean and Olivia Yancey. My mom, Diane Colby. Then My sister Hilerie, her husband Kenny and their son Spencer (their daughter Emily was asleep). Last but not least, my baby sister Christy and her boyfriend, Shane.
We had a fun family dinner after the meeting and then everyone had to pack up and head back to Utah! Thanks again everyone for being so supportive. We love you!

Colby's Special Day!

Colby was baptized on Saturday! What a great day! We are so proud of him. It was a really special program just for Colby. His Grandma, Chris Meline gave a talk on baptism and then his aunt, Stephanie Bliss gave the talk on confirmation and the Holy Ghost. Brett baptized him and then he was confirmed a member of the church by his dad John. It really was a good reminder for all of us about how important the ordinance of baptism really is and what a privilege it is to have the gift of the Holy Ghost. I am grateful for Colby and what a good boy he is.

Our Family!
Here is a picture of Colby with 4 of his sweet grandmas. Great Grandma Shirley Kalawaia, Diane Colby, Chris Meline and Olivia Yancey! Thank goodness for mothers and grandmothers.

Here is Colby with 3 grandpas! Dean Yancey, Lewis Meline and Jesse Kalawaia.

Here is the group of cousins and brothers and sisters.
Isaac, Emily, Colby and Jolie, Ali and Jaxsen, Zach, Isabelle and Spencer

After the baptism we had a really fun party at Mr. Pizza in Blackfoot. Here is a picture of Colby with his brother Isaac and his cousin Ali. That was the best fifty cents we spent that day. I think the pool game lasted over an hour haha! They had a blast.

Brothers eating doughnuts and having fun!

After pizza the party didn't stop...Here's Colby ripping up the lanes at the Starlite Bowling Alley by our house.

The day didn't end after bowling either! Colby got to go swimming with all of his cousins at the Best Western. What a lucky boy! Let me just say.....He slept really well.
