Big Girl

Jolie started crawling forward today! She is so proud of herself. We think it's super cute and hope we can keep track of her now that she's more mobile! Also I have waited for a year to be able to put this outfit on Jolie. It was from my friend Jamie and the size was 12-18 months and it is so adorable that I've been waiting and waiting for it to fit her...... Thanks Jamie--I love it!

Snake Bake

Yesterday after school I was making some rolls for dinner and I asked Colby if he wanted some dough to make something. He said yes and we came up with the idea for this snake.

He made the tongue, head, and body and then we used the scissors to make scales!

It was Colby's idea to make it green, so I just pulled out the food coloring and we added it to our egg wash. Colby painted red eyes and a red tongue and the rest was green.

It was so fun to play with Colby in the kitchen--he is awesome, and there is no charge for awesome!

Two Boys

This is what you get when you combine two boys, a huge mountainous pile of rocks and a sled. I don't think it ever crossed my mind to slide down said hill in a snow sled, but it has been eating at Colby ever since the 8th wonder appeared down the street from our house. SO, yesterday after our various activities (wonderful baby blessing, more church, fun party with great food and friends, visiting teaching and a trip out to grandma and grandpa's house), we got the sled out and headed for the hill.

The Emperor

I love it when Colby does little boy things like dressing up in a blanket and pretending to be the Emperor from Star Wars. He's such a smart kid and he's around adults so much that sometimes I think he misses out on the kid stuff. Here he is with the lightning hands up and everything. He even asked to have his picture taken--which NEVER happens!

Saturday Fun

Saturday we had a great day! I took the kids to the store in the morning to get a few things while Brett mowed the lawn. We did some other stuff around the house and then after lunch we decided to run up to Idaho Falls to have some fun. We had to stop at the Arctic Cat Dealer, the Yamaha Dealer AND the Honda Dealer for Brett and then we went to Rush's so I could get a few knives sharpened and then we went to the Museum of Idaho to see the Pharaoh exhibit. Colby got a coupon from scout camp that made it a great deal so we went to check it out. It was worth going. We all enjoyed looking at the ancient Egyptian artifacts.

We also got to attend Jacob Scheer's baptism. We've gotten to be really good friends with the Scheer family first from Colby's first grade class and then from church, baseball etc. They are great! After the baptism we went to dinner at their house. We had a great time and I was glad that Colby got to goof off with some other kids! We also rented a couple movies, made zucchini bread and called it a night!

10 Months Old!

Our sweet girl is 10 Months old already! I just wanted to write about some of the fun things she can do now. She isn't crawling forward yet--just backward, but she can get around by rolling and she can change directions on her hands and knees. She has her two bottom teethe and she has just started to cut a top tooth too. She has already taken a bite out of each of our arms! She has been saying ma ma ma and dah dah dah for a long time, but now we think she actually knows what it means. She has also started saying no no no. She reaches now when she wants to be picked up and it's pretty much irresistable. Jolie can also blow raspberries and she claps her hand on her mouth to make the indian noise (I don't really know how else to describe that!). She loves her sippy cup and I think that cheese is her favorite food! She loves to sit in Colby's room and play toys with him and she is constantly trying to grab Meatloaf. She is a happy girl and we love her so much!

Jolie loves to take baths! She just talks and talks, splashes and laughs until it's time to get out. Then she loves to look at herself in the mirror.

Our New Car

Well we traded in the 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee for a 2008 Pacific Blue Metallic Toyota Rav4! Why you ask? Well I absolutely loved the Jeep but it started to give us a lot of trouble and we were really stressed out about it! It would stall for no apparent reason in town and on the freeway it started to jerk unexpectedly like it was going to die and send us into a high speed fiery roll-over accident. We didn't want that. Also the air conditioning was still working, but only out of the defrost vent! The Jeep also decided to give up the cruise control feature for no apparrent reason. Brett and I decided to trade it in before it needed major repairs. So after a lot of internet research, we went with the Rav4. It's a 4-wheel drive V-6 and has more horsepower than the jeep did (important for Brett), and it gets better gas mileage! We've had a lot better luck with Japanese cars--sorry America and we really like it. So anyway, look for me in BLUE for about the next 10 years. Red will reign again someday!

Fair Time in Eastern Idaho

Saturday afternoon after the race we made it over to the fair for some classic fair fun. We had a good time wandering around taking silly pictures and checking everything out. By the end of the night my legs were so tired I was ready to die. I still managed to go grocery shopping with my mom though--thanks mom for the groceries. I don't know what I would do without my parents! They spoil us and it helps us out so much.

Lazy Colby wanted to be pushed around the entire fair. Lucky for him he had a willing grandma. I think Colby's been playing too many video games lately! Time for some exercise bud.

Here's dad with John Wayne and Jaxsen--They could be brothers! Too bad you forgot your hat dad! We had such a great weekend. Thanks for coming up to Blackfoot. Everything is definitely more fun and exciting with my family :)

Pocatello 1/2 Marathon

My sister Andrea came up with her kids and my parents this last weekend so we could run a race together and go to the fair. We had a great time, and I was really happy to have someone to run with! I was so proud of Andy for doing such a great job. She even got a burst of energy at mile 10 and I told her to go go go on ahead and I finished the race with my friend Nicky.
