Colby The Artist

Colby has been taking art classes for quite awhile now and he is still excited about going every week. I uploaded these photos 6 months ago, and he's done a lot more since then but here are some of his early works of art! We are really proud of him. We are also glad that he has found another outlet that he enjoys so much.

Luke 9 Month Update!

Luke is getting so big! I took him in for a well check a week ago and he weighed 22 pounds, and was 28-3/4 inches. He is such a sweetheart and we love his little personality. He is starting to crawl and he can move backwards pretty well if he sets his mind to it. He likes to sit up, stand, and pull himself up. He doesn't have great balance, but he's working on it! He loves Colby so much! Colby plays with him and makes him laugh and laugh. Colby got him to say ta ta ta yesterday too. He was so proud. Luke loves Jolie too! He especially loves to pull her hair! He loves peek-a-boo and being tickled by everyone.

Luke has six teethe. He has three on top and three on the bottom. Teething has been hard and unfortunately there is much more to come. In the last few months he has gone from being a little loverboy to mama's boy. He wants me 99.9% of the time. That is quite flattering, right? I'm just trying to enjoy it because I know this stage won't last very long. I need a break sometimes but for the most part I'm happy to love on my little Huge. He is such a snuggle bug and he gives the best hugs.

Luke loves food. He hasn't really refused anything we've given him. He loves vegetables and fruit and cookies and cereal and yes, even the cotton candy we let him try!

First shopping cart ride--LOVED IT!
Making his move...getting so strong!

Jolie-isms

Last night when I got home from work, Brett told me this little Jolie Joke. Here it is for your entertainment: She said: "Dad, do you know why the squirrels run around the church?" Brett said, "No, why?" (expecting a big punch line). Then Jolie said: "Cause." and giggled.

She also gives a lot of compliments that in her mind might not be compliments. She has been telling all of us in turn that we are geniuses. I said, "Jolie what does genius mean? Does it mean that you are really smart?" She said, "no, it means that you're stinky." She also called me a poo poo face about a half hour ago. What to do what to do? She's a feisty little 3 year old!

One of the latest ones that I've enjoyed is when she tells me that I'm clever. Just last week we were in the kitchen and I got a: "Mom you're so clever!" Yes, yes...I'd like to think that I am. The other day she said to Brett, "You're one big Beaver Dad!" We laughed and it took me a few minutes to remember that it's a quote from "Brother Bear". I guess as far as movie quoting goes, it is safe to say that she is my daughter and Colby's sister.

Anyway, even though she throws a lot of fits, uses potty words like poop, and makes constant messes, she really is a delight. She makes us laugh everyday. She loves books, playing outside, playing with Colby, going with dad anywhere, and helping mom.
