Wedding!

I had a fun wedding last night! Special thanks to my friend Pat for coming over and helping keep the buffet going. They had hot food too, but I was just in charge of the pastries. For this one they ordered eclairs, mint chocolate brownies, peanut butter monster cookies, macadamia nut cookies, and two kinds of cupcakes. I forgot to take a picture of the cookies!

I got a couple of new plate racks! I love them....

They had one cupcake tree instead of a wedding cake. The bride chose a chocolate raspberry cheesecake cupcake and a pumpkin chocolate chip cupcake. Half of each kind were frosted with chocolate ganache and the other half were frosted with a cream cheese butter cream. I really liked both kinds. They also used the cupcakes as a take home favor for guests. The little boxes sitting behind the cupcake tree were filled with different kinds to take home.

Eclairs, my favorite!

Tarts! again....

I taught again at Rush's today! I just wanted to post a few of the pictures that we took just because it was a great class and we had a lot of fun.

Here's the whole group with their finished fruit tarts. They were a great group and everyone's finished tarts looked wonderful.

Donna requested to have her picture taken with me--how cute is that! She sent it to me on my phone. It made me happy!

This is the one I brought home for Brett and the kids. It's gone.

Pastry II Class at Rush's

I taught a pastry class at Rush's yesterday and I LOVED it. We made cream puffs eclairs, swans, chocolate pastry cream and both a strawberry and a vanilla sauce. I also taught them some various plate painting techniques and we had a ball!

Here's a picture of Alex Constantino and I after class. Alex is the owner of Rush's and he gets all of our ingredients, preps with me and assists me during class. He is a great person and I feel so happy that I get to work with him.

Here's one of the plate presentations I did for the class--I call it "Two Swimming Swans in LOVE" haha!

This is Brandon and he is such a nice kid. He just started his first year of college, and he works part-time at Rush's. He gets to clean the kitchen after class and always helps me with whatever I need, so I always try to make sure there's dessert for him.

This is one of my returning students, Lee. Lee's wife Britany sends him to cooking class so he can make her delicious things to eat. I talked to her on the phone after class yesterday and she asked me if I would please teach him to make truffles, tiramisu, marzipan and fondant. I said--no problem! She totally has a good system going if you ask me hahaha!

Here's a close up of Lee's pastry plate. He bought all of the supplies he needed to make everything at home and a crepe maker too. Like I said, Britany's got it pretty good!

Jolie Turns Two!

Our sweet little girl turned 2 on Friday. She is getting so big--we can't believe how fast the time has gone by. She is talking really well and putting sentences together. She follows us around and says funny things like, "Mommy where are you?" She loves Colby and can almost say his name now (it sounds more like Toby). She still calls him Bubba most of the time though. She also loves to kiss everything, especially Meatloaf. She calls Meatloaf "Loafy" now too. Jolie loves shoes. She is pretty good at getting them off and on and she changes them frequently throughout the day and she's very particualr which sometimes drives me crazy when I want her to match haha! Jolie loves to play outside and she especially loves to go to the park so she can "SLIDE!". She loves "Finding Nemo" and "Monsters Inc." Jolie also loves her grandparents. She loves visiting them both here in Blackfoot and in Utah. She loves animals--all animals! She found a stuffed animal pig a few weeks ago that she packs around, kisses and hugs. Right now her favorite foods are hot dogs, string cheese, salad with tomatoes, and M&M's. She loves to read books and go to story time at the library. She loves to sing too and her favorite songs right now are "We Will Rock You" by Queen and "Who Let the Dogs Out" by the Baha Men. She totally cracks us up! She loves to draw and play playdoh too. We all adore her. It's been so fun to watch her learn and grow. We love you Jolie!

Halloween!

We had a great weekend! Stephanie came into town with her kids and we were pretty much party animals. On Friday we went to the spook parade at Colby's school and then later that night we went to the carnival and spook alley at Groveland Elementary school. Saturday I had to teach at Rush's, so Stephanie took the big kids swimming at the Blackfoot pool. At 3:00 pm, I took Jolie to have her picture taken, then I hurried and made a batch of cornbread and then we had friends and the in-laws over for our traditional Halloween Chili. It was good this year (said very humbly). After that, we went to a trunk-or-treat and then we went trick or treating around the neighborhood behind our house. THEN...we had doughnuts and hot chocolate at the Stufflebeam's house, went home and watched movies. Fun fun fun!

Here is Jolie and her daddy trick or treating. Jolie would not let us help her with that heavy bucket!

Cousins trick or treating

Here are Colby, Ali and Zach posing for the camera. I think Zach had Ninja lazers coming out of his eyes.

Ali the Vampiress!

Colby the rotting ZOMBIE!

Here's Jolie, completely bored, waiting for Colby to come into the gym at the spook parade.

Spider Cookies for Colby's class....

TOO MANY!

Here's Colby in the Doughnut eating contest in his class party! He LOVES doughnuts. It was so funny.
