Today we ran our first 5K as a family! It was really fun for me to have everyone there doing something that I love. I pushed Jolie in the stroller and ran with Colby and Brett ran ahead of us and cheered us in. We had a 10 mph headwind and some hills that added excitement to our adventure, but overall I think everyone did great--even Jolie!
Here we are before the race. The sun was really bright, and the camera was probably on the wrong setting!
This was Colby's first 5k and I am really proud of him for toughing it out. He hasn't been running very much because the weather has been so awful and he still did great. We walked a little when we had to but jogged as much as he could handle.
Jolie was a great passenger with no complaints. She did however request water at the aid stations. Colby and I thought that was pretty
hilarious.
After the race we had doughnuts and fruit. We didn't win any prizes in the drawing this time so we'll just have to sign up for more races! The shirts we got this year are really cute! They are purple with pink writing though, so Colby informed me as soon as he saw it that he will NEVER be wearing his! That's okay for me...Now I have one that fits my pregnant belly and one that will fit me post
partum haha! Good work everybody!
